Thomians in 10-wicket win

St. Thomas College Mt. Lavinia beat Prince of Wales' College by ten wickets and were home for tea in their inter-school under 19 cricket match played at Mt.Lavinia.

In reply to Thomians total of 228 visitors were shot out for a paltry 74 runs with Sahan Wijesinghe returning five fingers of 5 for 20 and Ravindu Thilakarathne claimed 3 for 11.

Thomian skipper Malshan Ravichandrakumar was the highest scored for them with 71 while Satchith Pushpakumar bowled best for cambrians with 5 for 53.

In their second essay Cambrians bounced back to score 181 runs with Ashen Mendis scoring 71 runs and Hasitha Lanka was unbeaten on 35 runs and set to make 28 runs for an outright win homesters notched up the required score without loss.

S. Thomas' - 228 - Madushan Ravichandrakumar 71, Lahiru Opatha 41, Thilaksha Sumanasiri 22, Tarindu Ratnayake 38, Satchith Pushpakumara 5/53, Thilan Nimesh 2/52, Shanuka Dulaj 2/36 and 3/10.

Prince of Wales - 74 - Suchira Fernando 22, Sahan Wijesinghe 5/20, Ravindu Thilakarathen 3/11 and 181 - Ashen Mendis 71, Hasitha Lanka 35 N/O, Ravindu Thilakarathne 3/39, Thilaksha Malshan 2/20.
