Gateway win Under 17 Basketball Championship

Gateway College Colombo maintained their supremacy in basketball by beating CIS Colombo 84 to 59 to win the Inter International School Under 17 Championship. Nichula Liyanage who was chosen to be the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament scored 41 points in the final.

Melantha Jansz, the skipper was named the Best Defensive Player of the tournament. The competition was organised by CIS and was played at the CIS court. Earlier, the Gateway boys beat OKI 61-10 and CIS Kandy 42-28at group stage, Lyceum Wattala 57-11 at the Quarter Final and Lyceum Nugegoda59-48 in the Semi Final.
