TSA officer killed in Los Angeles airport shooting

One person has died and several people were wounded during a shooting at Los Angeles International Airport, officials say. The Transportation Security Administration said a number of its employees were injured, one fatally.The suspect - named by the FBI as 23-year-old Los Angeles resident Paul Anthony Ciancia was wounded by police and detained.Hundreds of flights nationwide were affected by the incident.LA Airport police chief Patrick Gannon told reporters a “lone shooter” came into Terminal 3 at 9:20 local time (16:20 GMT).

Earth-sized planet found with rocky core

Scientists have found a planet way out in the cosmos that's close in size and content to Earth an astronomical first. But this rocky world is so close to its Sun that it's almost certainly too hot for life.Astrophysicists reported on Wednesday in the journal Nature that the exoplanet Kepler-78b appears to be made of rock and iron, just like Earth. They measured the planet's mass to determine its density and content. It's actually a little bigger than Earth and nearly double its mass, or weight.

World's tallest man gets married in Turkey

Sultan Kosen, the world's tallest man, married a Syrian woman over 2-feet shorter than he is on Saturday. At 5 feet 8 inches, Kosen's wife Mervi Dibo, 20, is not a short lady, but standing next to her 8-foot-3-inch husband she hardly reaches his waist.
