"The success of the company's 12-year journey is a testament to the
entrepreneurial courage and long term vision of the founders of Laugfs
Gas W.K.H. Wegapitiya and Thilak de Silva," a company spokesman said.
Laugfs Gas commenced operations in 2001 as the country's second
full-fledged LPG downstream player following the liberalisation of the
Sri Lankan LPG industry. Having entered a field dominated by a monopoly,
the company achieved remarkable growth and gained impressive market
share in a short span of time.
"The past 12 years has been full of challenges which have been
overcome through courage and innovation. We are honoured by the
recognition and accolades we have received over the years for our
entrepreneurial achievements, service quality and attention to safety,"
said Laugfs Gas, CEO Ashan de Silva.
"Customers can look forward to many more innovative products and
services in the near future," he said.
In 2011, Laugfs Gas pioneered the five kg gas cylinder to serve the
needs of small families.
The convenient, economical and smart cylinder was due to the
company's constant desire to develop and innovate.
"The National Quality Award received by Laugfs Gas at the National
Quality Awards Ceremony in 2012 stands out among the many awards and
accolades it has received over the years," a company spokesman said. |
