Temporary shelter for Lankan workers in S Arabia
Several temporary shelters have been set up in Saudi Arabia by the
Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) for Sri Lankan migrant
workers overstaying in the country as they couldn't meet the deadline
set by the Saudi Arabian government to leave the Kingdom before the
amnesty period ran out.
These Sri Lankan migrant workers are now gathered in camps after they
had failed to leave Saudi Arabia before the November 4 deadline set by
the Saudi government for them to leave without facing a penalty.
SLBFE General Manager, Mangala Randeniya has said the temporary
shelters or safe houses have been set up.
