'Galle Dialogue 2013'
The International Maritime Security Conference, "Galle Dialogue
2013", organised by the Sri Lanka Navy under the aegis of the Ministry
of Defence will be held in the port city of Galle from November 25-26
for the fourth consecutive year.
Local and foreign scholars and experts in maritime and naval affairs
representing 35 countries will share their views at the two-day dialogue
under the theme, "Emerging Maritime Trends in the Indian Ocean", at the
Lighthouse Hotel.
Defence Secretary, Gotabaya Rajapaksa will deliver the keynote
address at the inaugural session while the welcome address will be made
by Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage.
Secretary to the President, Lalith Weeratunga will also address the
gathering during the first session.
The "Galle Dialogue" initiative, inaugurated in 2010, created a forum
to discuss and exchange views on regional maritime security concerns.
The Galle Dialogue 2013 focuses on examining the emerging trends in
the Indian Ocean. |
