Swedish Golf Classic 2013 at Victoria Course Dec.7

Five times World Motor Cross champion Swedish born Rolf Tibblin will
grace the occasion and over 150 golfers are expected to be in action
when the 'Golf Extravaganza of the Year" Swedish Golf Classic 2013 is
worked off at the picturesque Victoria golf course on Saturday December
7th.
This championship is organised jointly by the Swedish Community in
Sri Lanka and the Victoria Golf and Country Resort.
In the past years this major championship has been a roraring success
and a lot of golfers particularly from Sweden, Malaysia, India, England,
Singapore, Japan and many other countries have been participating and
this year it is no different and a very large participation is expected.
This championship started many years ago to coincide with the
birthday of former World Motorcross champion Rolf Tibblin and gradually
it has grown into stature as the Swedish Golf Classic and has been
graced by Consulars and many others. Usually the golf championship is
followed by a star spangled show.
Playing a key role in organising this major golfing event are Rolf
Tibblin himself, Ian Tait, Sujeewa Lankatillake, Veinert Holm, Chathuri
Engman and Indira Tibblin.
Some of the events which will be worked off are:
Handicap Men: Gold Handicap 0-12 Winner Gross and Net. Silver
Handicap 13-28 Winner and 1st runner up.
Handicap Ladies: Gold Handicap 0-20: Winner Gross and Net, Silver
Handicap 21-36 Winner and 1st runner up.
Swedish Classic Trophy: Overall winner ladies and men net, Rolf's
Cup: For Mens 65 years and above Net.
Additional competition for men and ladies are: a. Longest Drive, b.
Nearest to the Pin, c. Most Accurate Drive.
Novices Competition for ladies and men.
Age 12 years and above Net 9 holes only. Entry forms could be had
from Victoria Golf and Country Resort. Royal Colombo Golf Club and
Nuwara Eliya Golf Club.
The Rolf Cup will be personally presented by the legendary motorcross
champion from Sweden Rolf Tibblin whose feats in the motot racing world
have carved their way into the record books. The motor cycles ridden by
him are now exhibited in the national Museaum in Sweden. A few years
back he was honoured in the country hall of Fame and all these makes him
a unique celebrity.
