Organised by SLIP and its 'technical arm', the Packaging Development
Centre, Lankapak 2014 will uncover the potential of Sri Lanka's
packaging industry and unveil the latest international products to a
growing international clientele.
It will be supported by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and two
global and regional packaging organisations - The World Packaging
Organisation and The Asian Packaging Federation.
Lankapak 2014 is sponsored by CMC Engineering (Platinum Sponsor) and
Euroasia Packaging (Gold Sponsor).
Chairman of the Organising Committee and Past President of Sri Lanka
Institute of Packaging, who is also the Chairman of the Packaging
Development Centre, Dharmatilake Ratnayake said, "Colombo has always
been a centre of attraction for the suppliers of state-of-the-art
packaging equipment and new products.
Being a country which is dependent on imported raw material and
equipment for packaging, Sri Lanka has, over the past three decades,
mastered the art of adding value to export products through high quality
package designing and processing as seen in many locally produced export
products".
President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging, Dudley
Thambinayagam said, "Being perhaps the oldest such packaging industry
Association in South East Asia, the SLIP has a proud history dating back
to more than three decades of improving the standards of the Sri Lankan
packaging industry from a deplorable state to the highly competitive
position it enjoys today."
"Promotional exhibitions portraying local packaging development and
the technical advances in the developed world are held with the support
of regional and global giants in the field of packaging," he said. |
