Rukman and Vidyaroshini - the boxing judges

BOXING: Who says boxing is only for men? In Kandy District there is a couple Rukman Wekadapola and his wife Vidyarashini who are very much interested in boxing.

The husband-and-wife combination - that's Rukman and Vidyaroshini are very much interested in the 'glove game'. Rukman is a Three-Star International Referee and Judge while Vidyaroshini is a One-Star Referee.

Rukman is an old boy of Pilimatalawa National School is a former Stubs Shield boxing champion and has been officiating since 2003. Vidyaroshini is an old girl of Pushpadana Girls School, Kandy. She excelled in athletics and netball during her school days.

She turned to be an official in boxing due to the encouragement given to her by her husband Rukman.
