JASTECA calls on corporates to adopt CSR policy
Over 3,500 Sri Lankans have received training on the Japanese 5S and
Kaizen management systems, said Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural
Association (JASRECA) President Athula Edirisinghe.
He said that a large number of companies and government institutions
have reached excellence in productivity and efficiency by adopting the
Japanese 5S and Kaizen management concepts.
The number of corporates adopting the 5S concepts has increased over
the years and as a result the quality of work and productivity has
increased sharply over the years.
“We are happy to see many private and public institutions keen to
learn and implement the Japanese management system to boost efficiency
and productivity.
The system helps employees to be more efficient and enhance their
contribution to the organisation,” Edirisinghe said.
The training is provided in Japan through JASTECA scholarships
offered with financial support of the Government of Japan.
Edirisinghe said that around 800 students obtain Japanese language
proficiency annually through the Japanese Language Education Association
of JASTECA.
JASTECA has promoted 5S and Kaizen training for around two decades
adding value to the manufacturing industry and service sector. The 5S
system is practised by a large number of corporates encourages companies
to go beyond shareholder expectations and honour ethical values and
respect society and the environment.
The 5S kaizen principles have been made popular by manufacturing and
production industries across the world.
Kaizen refers to continuous improvement or ‘change for the best’ of
processes in manufacturing, engineering and business management. |
