Asanga Ranasinghe Arachchi's Sinhala novel Santhaptha was launched
recently as a Sanka publication.
Asanga Ranasinghe Arachchi has travelled crisscrossing the Suez Canal
and through many sea routes for many years as a sailor. The land of
mysteries, treasures, the mystical land of the Pharaohs and its culture.
Egypt has captured his attention and inspired him to record it in story
form.
His marine life and experience at the naval academy at Galle Fort
surrounded by the sea enabled him to bring out a story about a shipwreck
and magnificent treasures from Egypt that remains under the sea. The
book takes the reader on a journey of myths, beliefs and practices
associating with the day-to-day activities of the people, with 268 pages
of interesting reading material.

recently as a Sarasavi publication. He is also the author of four other
novels Anora, Kinduriyakata Pem Benda, Nannadunana Yuvathiya and Meedum
Dumare.
