T.B. Illangaratne's 101st birth anniversary on Feb.27

A commemorative ceremony, "Shathakayaka Nonasena Mathakaya - Illangaratne" will be held on February 27 at 3.45 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute to mark the 101th birth anniversary of veteran politician and writer T.B. Illangaratne.

SLFI Chairman, Prof. Ranjith Bandara will deliver the keynote address on 'Illangaratne's influence on politics and economy' while senior lecturer, Peradeniya University Attanayake M. Herath will speak on his role in literary activities.

The felicitative volume, "Shathakayaka Nonasena Mathakaya _ Illangaratne" will also be launched. A few episodes of teledramas 'Lasanda' and 'Ambayahaluwo', two of Illangaratne's novels will also be screened. The event is organised by the "Illangaratne Friendship Forum Secretary Renuka Dushyantha Perera and Edward Chandrasiri.
