Pirivena students to get free school uniforms

The Ministry of Education Services will distribute uniforms to lay students and novices in 740 Pirivenas islandwide. This will benefit over 67,460 Pirivena students. The government has spent Rs. 12.4 million to supply free uniform materials to the Pirivena students.

These uniform materials will be distributed among twelve centres islandwide, said Minister of Education Services Duminda Dissanayake at a conference of Pirivena heads in the Kurunegala District held at Kurunegala. President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be the chief guest at the national ceremony to distribute free uniforms, the Minister added.
