Trinity present boys in 21-17 win

Tarinda Ratwatte guided the present boys to beat the Old Boys led by 2012 skipper Kanil Senavirthne , in their annual game which was played last evening at the Pallekelle Rugby Stadium. The winners were presented with the A.G. Fraser trophy. Present Boys scored 21 points against the Old Boys 17.

The Present Boys eight played a fine, bit of rugby, where they handled the ball well and also tackled fiercely several occasions to halt the Old boys from scoring. It was good rugby most of the time the ball was handled.

The day was high standard of rugby, were all age group teams were seen in action and the rugby on show was excellent. What ever the secret of its recent appeal rugger has always been the most popular game at Trinity since it was introduced in 1906. There was under 11, 12, 13, 14, 16 , 17 these matches were between Trinity and Vidyartha, Trinity won all the games, then in the 2^nd XV with St.Thomas' Matale that too Trinity won. The two schools Vidyartha and St.Thomas' came on invitation to grace their rugby day.

This time they will be opening the season with the game against D.S. Senanayake College on Friday March 21 at Pallekelle Stadium. Thee are in the 'A' division group II - with schools like Wesley, Royal, St. Josephs, Isipathana and D.S. Senanayake.
