Police nab 1,631 drunk drivers during Avurudu

The police apprehended 1, 631 drivers who drove under the influence of alcohol during the new year week, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.The special monitoring operation was conducted countrywide for eleven days starting from 6.00am on April 10th Thursday to 6.00am on Saturday April 20th.

'LTTE has started planting terrorism seeds again'

Ajith Colonne, Security Analyst and a former Deputy Director (research) attached to Sri Lankan Military Intelligence said that what we achieved in May 2009 is a full completion of one full cycle eradicating LTTE within Sri Lanka. Army thwarts terrorists’ regrouping

In the case of Red Notices, the persons concerned are wanted by national jurisdictions for prosecution or to serve a sentence based on an arrest warrant or court decision. Interpol’s role is to assist the national police forces in identifying and locating these persons with a view to their arrest and extradition or similar lawful action. Sri Lanka Army with its strengthened Intelligence network managed to track down and thwart a terrorist regrouping and capture the main operatives behind.
