BoC sponsors ayurvedic hospital at Abimansala III

An ayurvedic hospital sponsored by the Bank of Ceylon at Abimansala III - the wellness resort for differently-abled soldiers in Pangolla, Kurunegala was opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently.

Army Commander Lieutenant General Daya Rathnayaka, General Manager, Bank of Ceylon D.M Gunasekara were also present.

The hospital comes under the Brave Hearts project of the Sri Lanka Army, was developed as a therapeutic centre equipped to provide all types of ayuruvedic treatment to residing soldiers.

Situated on 10 acres of land near Deduru Oya, Abimansala III can accommodate 50 people.

The ayurvedic hospital of Abimansala III is a project initiated by the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) to provide lifelong care for differently-abled soldiers who have sacrificed the prime of their youth to achieve lasting peace in the country.

These heroes, many of them young with many years of life ahead of them are suffering from serious injuries and permanent disabilities and are in need of post-injury care for their survival. Their families are not able to provide the sort of care they need.

The project aims at heal ing their minds and making them feel cared for.

Since its inception, the Bank of Ceylon has provided support for the economic and social well-being of the country.

As such the Bank believes it is one of the prime responsibilities of our nation to provide utmost care for these heroes.

The ayurvedic hospital is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility projects of the Bank of Ceylon.

The Bank earned global recognition as one of the top 1,000 banks in the world, as listed by The Banker Magazine (UK) in 2012 and 2013.

The Bank claimed its award as the only Sri Lankan brand recognised as one of Asia's Best Brands in 2013 by the Chief Marketing Officer's Council (CMO Council) in Mumbai, India.

Brand Finance Lanka ranked Bank of Ceylon as the number one brand in Sri Lanka for the past six consecutive years.

The Bank of Ceylon recorded yet another hat-trick in 2013 at the National Business Excellence awards ceremony organised by the National Chamber of Commerce.

The Bank has achieved exceptional milestones in recent years by achieving rapid growth in recent years and currently holds over Rs. one trillion assets.

Focusing on the Banks achievement, Fitch Rating Lanka ranked the Bank of Ceylon at AA+ (lka) which is the highest rating awarded to a local commercial bank.

The Bank of Ceylon is also the only Sri Lankan bank with an international presence, with branches in Chennai, Male, Seychelles and a subsidiary in London.
