People's Bank appoints 400 Customer Service Assistants

President Mahinda Rajapaksa presented letters of appointment to newly
recruited Customer Service Assistants of People's Bank at a ceremony at
the BMICH.
Four-hundred new Customer Service Assistants representing the Western
and Southern Provinces received their appointment letters at the
ceremony.
The People's Bank recruited 1,000 Customer Service Assistants in two
stages this year. The first batch of 600 Customer Service Assistants
representing the other provinces were presented their appointment
letters in February this year.
The recruitment of the second batch was pushed back due to the
Provincial elections. President Mahinda Rajapaksa was the chief guest.
Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne, Senior Minister of International
Monitory Cooperation and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Dr.
Sarath Amunugama, Ministers Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, S. M. Chandrasena,
Douglas Devananda, Deputy Minister Geethanjana Gunawardena, MPs Thilanga
Sumathipala and Duminda Silva, Chairman, People's Bank Gamini Sedara
Senarath, Members of the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and
General Manager N. Vasantha Kumar, bank executives, representatives of
trade unions and voluntary associations, officials and the parents of
the appointees were also present.
