CCC hosts newly appointed Consul General to Mumbai

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) on Wednesday facilitated a meeting between Designated Sri Lankan Consul General for Mumbai Ms. Saroja Sirisena and some of the representatives of the local firms doing business with India.

Ms. Sirisena said that Sri Lanka's economic relationship with India is an important one, as the neighbouring giant is the island's largest trading partner. Since Mumbai is the commercial capital of India, Sri Lanka is trying to strengthen the Mumbai mission to garner more economic opportunities. CCC Secretary-General and CEO Harin Malwatte said that local businessmen doing business with India have a number of issues, in getting their job done.

"Our members and those who deal with India are not fully satisfied," he said.
