NCCSL seminar on 'capital growth'
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a
seminar on 'Capital Growth and Capital without collateral' on May 29 at
the Chamber auditorium at D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10, to
create awareness on capital growth and raise capital without collateral.
It is organised by the NCCSL with the Securities and Exchange
Commission of Sri Lanka and the Colombo Stock Exchange.
HR Guru Dave Ulrich conducts CEO forum
Globally renowned HR Guru Prof. Dave Ulrich conducted a CEO Forum on
‘Building Competitive Organisations: The next venue for sustained
success’ at the Kingsbury Hotel recently. The moderator at the forum was
Chief Executive Officer, AIA Sri Lanka, Shah Rouf. The forum reviewed
drivers of competitive advantage and strategies for effective

CDB donates IT laboratory to Kandapola school
Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB) recently presented
Kandapola Mahinda Maha Vidyalaya an IT laboratory under its Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR) project - CDB Pariganaka Piyasa, to enhance
IT literacy among students islandwide. The school in the Nuwara Eliya
district provides schooling to 215 students and facilitates studies up
to the GCE Ordinary Level. Director and Chief Finance Officer, CDB,
Damith Tennakoon, senior members of CDB were also present at the
ceremony.This donation marks the seventh such laboratory provided by the
CDB to schools, with the total value of the project being over Rs. 1.5
million.
First copy of Lak Riya presented to President

The first copy of the Sinhala Motor Magazine Lak Riya published by
the Vehicle Importers Association of Lanka (VIAL) comprising articles,
events and pictures related to the motor industry was presented to
President Mahinda Rajapaksa at his Carlton residence in Tangalle
recently. The President of the Association Sampath Merinchage told the
media that this was a landmark achievement for the motor industry adding
that the work on the project was achieved within a short period. Here

Amaron to expand

Amaron automotive batteries, manufactured by Amara Raja Batteries Ltd
of India plans to push growth and expand its network in Sri Lanka.
Amaron is one of the market leaders for maintenance-free automotive
batteries. Samudhi Group of Companies are the local distributors. Having
a turnover of Rs 610 million before tax which accounts for 10 percent of
market share Amaron batteries has seen rapid growth.
Knorr completes 175 years

Knorr, a food brand, which has completed 175 years of business, held
a ceremony in Colombo recently to mark the occasion.
In keeping with the motto of adding flavour to the world, Knorr is
one of the largest single food brands touching several million people
everyday. In Sri Lanka Knorr has developed a range of products and
