Bimba Tillakaratne - Actg. Attorney General

Senior Additional Solicitor General, Bimba Tillakaratne PC, has been appointed Acting Attorney General, until the return of Attorney General Palitha Fernando, who is out of the island.

Bimba an old girl of St.Bridget's Convent obtained her LLB (Sri Lanka) at the University of Colombo in 1979 and the Post Graduate Diploma in International Law in Hague The Netherlands in 1993.

She took oaths as an Attorney-at-Law on September 24, 1981 and later joined the Attorney General's Department as an acting State Counsel in February 1, 1983. She was promoted to Senior State Counsel in February 1996 and as Additional Solicitor General in June 13, 2011.

Bimba is the daughter of late J.W. Jayasinghe, Mrs. Jayasinghe and is married to Anura Tillekeratne.
