Conference on Buddhist Jurisprudence
A two-day conference on Buddhist Jurisprudence under the theme of "Universalising
Buddhist Jurisprudence" is being held at the Lakshman Kadirgamar
Institute for International Relations and Strategic Studies. It is
organised by Prajna Vimukti Foundation.
The Conference is organised with the objective of discovering
Buddhist principles relevant to principles of law. It looks at the
linkage between law and Buddhist principles.
The scholars are presenting research papers under five categories -
Constitutional Law and human rights; Criminal Law, Family law and
Environment Law, International Law and Theology; and Commercial Law.
Chief Justice of Sri Lanka Mohan Peiris and Chief Justice of Bhutan
Lyonopo Tobgye addressed the gathering at the inaugural session. |
