Rs. 10,000 fine for having trap gun

Matara Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Ruwan Sisira Kumara imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 to a man who pleaded guilty to the charge of possessing a trap gun.

According to Police the accused was a resident of Walakanda, Puhulwella in the area of Thihagoda Police. The detection was made on a public tip off. Police also produced the trap gun taken into custody at the time of the raid as the case production in court. A team of police officers attached to Thihagoda Police made these arrests and prosecuted in the Magistrate's Court, Matara.
