BoC marks Vesak in Seychelles

The Bank of Ceylon (BoC) set up its fourth overseas branch in Victoria, Seychelles in January.

Following a request of the Buddhist community in Seychelles, the Bank of Ceylon celebrated Vesak on May 14 and 15. For the first time in history four Bhikkhus from Sri Lanka visited Seychelles from May 13-17 and conducted religious programs in Majoie. A Sil program followed by a Dansala and other religious activities was held on May 14. On May 15, a children's religious program was held followed by a Bakthi Geetha recital.

From May 14-16, colourful Vesak lanterns and other illuminations added light and colour to this area in Majoie.

These events were organised by the Bank of Ceylon Seychelles Country Head Staff of BoC Seychelles branch and Seychelles Buddhist Association.

The main sponsors were the Bank of Ceylon, BoC Travels and Ahamed Didi of Seychelles.
