Boase welcomes President's Delhi visit
The Tami Nadu Coastal Mechanised Boat Fishermen's Welfare Association
Secretary N.J. Boase welcomed Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa's
visit to New Delhi to attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony as
Prime Minister of India tomorrow.
In a statement issued in Ramewaram, Tamil Nadu, Boase said that the
problems of Tamil-speaking people in Sri Lanka including the fishermen's
issues could solved diplomatically if President Mahinda Rajapkasa visits
New Delhi to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister
designate Narendra Modi.
Inspite of the protest of several political parties and various
organisations in Tamil Nadu against the Sri Lankan President's visit to
New Delhi, Bose and his fishermen's association not only welcomed but
also advised all these parties to support it so that the issues related
to welfare of minority Tamils in Sri Lanka and the fishermen's issues
too could be solved.
Advisor to the Indo-Lanka Fishermen's Welfare Forum and member of the
Advisory Board of the Ministry of Fisheries Aquatic Resources
Development, S. P. Anthonymuthu said, "Bose told me on the phone about
the action taken by the Association to support President Rajapaksa's
visit to New Delhi."
