Fish products up in Jaffna

Massive development programs are being carried out in Northern Province under the Mahinda Chinthana. Several factories have been set up and the living standard of the people is being improved. The Sea is one of the main sources of livelihood of the province and some of the seafood products are exported.

The Gurunagar crab processing factory, North Sea fishnet factory and Annai Sea Food factory are foremost in exploiting the abundant sea resources in the surrounding seas.Northern Province Governor G.A. Chandrasiri accompanied by his Secretary L. Illangovan and Director of Industries Department visited seafood factories in the peninsula recently and observed its processing activities.
