Gateway wins three Age Group Championships in Chess

In addition to many other sports, Gateway College, is making notable strides in Chess too. In the recent Inter International School Chess Tournament, Gateway won the Under 10, 12 and 19 Championships. They were the runner up in Under 8. The performance of the juniors go to show that the sport is a growing and a popular one at Gateway.

Dulain Perera, Chanuth Jayatissa, Manura Ariyathilake and Ovin Ranasinghe of Under 10, Thenula Hennayake and Kulisa Nanyakkara of Under 12 and Jithran Ekanayake and GajithaNanayakkara of Under 19 won Board prizes at this competition.
