Ladies excels in schools tennis

Ladies College Under 13 Tennis Team beat St. Bridget's Convent in the finals of the prestigious All Island Inter-School Tennis Championship played at the SLTA Colombo. The team were unbeaten throughout, easily overcoming Karandeniya Central and Methodist College, before defeating Bishop's College in the semi-final. Anika Seneviratne and Michaela Jayasuriya won the singles while Alana Seneviratne and Aindree Vairavanathan clinched the doubles and victory for the side in the final. The U13 team comprised Anika Seneviratne, Alana Seneviratne, Michaela Jayasuriya, Aindree Vairavanathan, Sarisha Gunasekera, Rivinka de Silva, Saheli Hapudeniya, Rhianna David, Maneka Madanayake and Serika Siriwardene and is coached by Shalini Perera.

The under 17 team were runners-up with the team comprising Medhira Samarasinghe, Oshani Wickremasinghe, Serena Madanayake, Shenara David, Mahitha Abeysekera, Dui Jayasekera, Amashi Gunasekera, Rayaca Tayabally and Yanisha Perera.

The Ladies College team is captained by Shavindri Perera with Vice-captains Kayali de Silva, Thewuni Devaraja and Vindya Kattipearachchi and coached by Sylvester Francis with Teacher-in-Charge Mrs. Kamala Kulatilake.
