Alcom Recruitment turns 50

Alcom Recruitment has a long history of recruiting people for employment abroad and was re-established by the present Chairperson, Mrs S. D. C. Aloysius (nee Lindsay White).

It recruits people to work in Oman and other countries such as Bahrain and Doha Qatar. The company mainly works with the Oman Defence Ministry.

The company will celebrate its 50th anniversary on July 13 at Ahungalla.

The company has survived economic and institutional changes overcoming competition through sheer determination.

The mastermind behind the success of this entity has been Ms. Sharmaine Aloysius who fuels the engine that runs this institution. "We look at professionalism rather than qualification," she said.

Ms. Aloysius said that she aims at providing tailor-made recruitment solutions for clients, making sure that they receive a personalised solution to any recruitment problem that they may face.

Alcom Director Mrs. Premila Diwakara has been a source of great strength and support to her from the inception, she said.

"Our success is mainly due to hard work and dedication. No amount of talent can replace hard work.

No amount of foreknowledge can replace dedication. "Courage comes to one from within not from a title or possession," Aloysius said.
