Kandy Global Shapers Hub launched
The Kandy Global Shapers Hub was opened recently. The Founding
Curator of the Colombo Hub, Asanga Abeyagoonasekera with the founder
members of the Kandy Hub, Prof. Daya Amarasekara, Thusitha Nimalsiri
(Deputy Curator), Dakshitha Choliya Bandara, Darshani Chandrasekara,
Chamod Dharmadasa, Udara Amarathunga and Pradeepa Anthony were present.
This is the second Hub in Sri Lanka, the Colombo Hub has been in
operation since 2012. There are 344 Hubs around the world with 3,843
members. Abeyagoonasekera stressed the importance of youth connecting
with the rest of the world as two-thirds of the world's population was
below 30 years.
He said we need to recognise youth who are ready to improve society
and make the world a better place. Global Shapers is a great platform
for the youth of Kandy to work with the rest of the world. |
