Boost for rural IT literacy

Assessing the progress of Nenasalas and providing support for their
continued functioning will be entrusted to District Development
Committees, Telecommunication and Information Technology Ministry (TITM)
Secretary Gothabhaya Jayaratne told the Ampara District Nenasala and
Missaka e -Nenapiyasa operators at a district information technology
discussion recently.
It was organised by the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA).
He said that the Ministry would implement an extensive program to
rectify drawbacks in these centres in the future.
The Nenasalas and Missaka e-Nenapiyasa centres aim at increasing the
IT literacy of the people in rural areas.
Jayaratne said that the citizens services that the Government offers
to the rural people are provided through these Nenasalas via the
internet.
