Seylan Bank launched its multi-currency Travel Card at the Galadari last week. The card could be loaded with several currencies such as the US dollar, Sterling Pound, Euro, Saudi Riyal and the Australian dollar.

Seylan Bank, GM and CEO Kapila Ariyaratne and bank officials at the launch.

This chip-enabled Seylan Travel Card allows users simultaneous access to all five currencies, in any part of the world.

The card will simply pick the destination (transacted) currency to avoid currency conversion fees to the customer.

General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Seylan Bank, Kapila Ariyaratne said that the Seylan Travel Card has a lot of advantages such as instant SMS alerts after each transaction.

It also offers pin-protected web access for balance inquires and checking of transactions and also offers free medical insurance of up to US$ 50,000.

The card will be useful to corporate customers who constantly travel overseas and visit several countries.

Corporates can also track expenditure.

Senior Deputy General Manager, Retail Banking, Tissa Nanayakkara said that once purchased, the card minimises the exposure to currency fluctuations. Customers get the added convenience of an additional card for use in the event of the primary card being lost or stolen.

The Seylan Travel Card does not need proof of identity to obtain cash or purchase goods and services.
