Industrial zones and parks to be set up

The Government will set up industrial zones and parks in selected locations. Two industrial zones will be set up in Kalladi and Sooriyawewa. The Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) on the Industrial estate in Kalladi has already been completed, Investment Promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said.

Infrastructure facilities such as water supply, electricity and telecommunication will be provided by the Government.

A new location has been identified to resettle 25 families who live in the Kalladi proposed site at present. Twenty-one families of them have agreed to be relocated in the new location.
