P. Samarasiri - Deputy Governor, Central Bank

The Monetary Board, with the concurrence of the President and Minister of Finance, has appointed P. Samarasiri as a Deputy Governor of the Central Bank from June 1.

P. Samarasiri has functioned as an Assistant Governor in the Central Bank during the past six-and-half years and while holding such post he also functioned as the Secretary to the Monetary Board of the Central Bank for the past four-and-half years.

He also serves as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board and as the Vice Chairman of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.

He also held the positions of the Compliance Officer and Secretary to the Monetary Board Advisory Audit Committee of the Central Bank.
