Interpol issues 12 red notices on local drug kingpins

Interpol has issued 12 red notices on wanted local underworld drug kingpins who are living overseas, the police said.

These wanted men include Kimbula Ela Guna, Wele Sudha and Mohamed Siddique who were wanted in connection with a series of heroin trafficking incidents.

Suspects such as Kimbula Ela Guna had been living abroad for nearly a decade operating the heroin business in Sri Lanka, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.

Wele Sudha who is believed to be in a Middle East country and Mohamed Siddique reportedly living in Pakistan were linked to two recent major detections of heroin in Nedimala and Kelaniya.
