Waidyatilaka Technical Delegate and ITO at Commonwealth Games 2014

P.H.D. Waidyatilaka the only International Technical Official of the International Association of Athletics federations (IAAF) and International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in Sri Lanka has been invited to officiate as an ITO at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland from 27th July to 3rd Aug.

Waidyatilaka has been given the rare honour of officiating as Technical delegate by the IPC for the Para events at the CWG 2014. It is indeed a great honour for Sri Lanka that the only IPC qualified ITO for Sri Lanka has been bestowed the honour of being Technical Delegate which is the highest position a Technical Official can achieve.

This is the fifth consecutive Commonwealth Games Waidyatilaka who is also a Senior Lecturer of the IAAF, Advicer - Foreign Relations of The Masters Athletics Sri Lanka (MASL), Vice president of Asia Masters Athletics and ITO of World Masters Athletics (WMA) is officiating.

In 1998 he officiated at the 16th CWG in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia followed by 17th CWG in 2002 in Manchester , 2006 Melbourne Australia and 2010 in New Delhi India.

He has also officiated at all major Championships including Olympic Games, World Championships

World Cup , Asian Games and Asian Championships.

He has served as Technical Delegate at IAAF Diamond League in Shanghai and Doha, Asian Champinships and South Asian Games.
