Seylan gifts Tikiri accounts to Kegalle quintuplets


Senior Manager Malith Kumarage presents pass books to the father of the quintuplets.

A 29-year-old mother from Hettimulla, Kegalle, Dilini Rasangi Shyamini gave birth to Sri Lanka's second set of quintuplets at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital recently. The father of the two boys and three girls, Shilantha Wijepala, is an executive in the mercantile sector.

Seylan Bank was the first bank to present the mother of the infants with five, Seylan Tikiri accounts worth Rs. 50,000, soon after their birth. The presentation was made by Senior Manager, Seylan Bank, Kandy branch, Malith Kumarage to the father of the infants.

"We are happy to be the first bank to give the infants a valuable gift and will be with them on their journey of life until they reach adulthood with Seylan Tikiri.

As the Bank that is always in the forefront of children's savings, we're honoured to offer these infants an opportunity to save," said Seylan Bank's Deputy General Manager, Marketing Tilan Wijeyesekera. Launched in 1992, Seylan Tikiri is an interactive and rewarding minors' savings account scheme.

Over the past 22 years, SeylanTikiri has brought thousands of children from all parts of Sri Lanka into its fold.
