Union Assurance receives ISO certification
Union Assurance IT Management systems was awarded the ISO 27001:2005
certification recently.
The ISO 27000 family of standards assists organisations to protect
and maintain security of information assets such as business
information, customer data, financial information, intellectual
property, employee details and information entrusted by third parties.
ISO-IEC 27001 is the best-known standard in the family providing for
Information Security Management System (ISMS).
This International Standard adopts a process approach for setting up,
implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and
improving an organisation's ISMS.
The ISO 27001 certification recognises that Union Assurance's IT
policies and procedures are in accordance with the highest international
standards, and that it ensures confidentiality, integrity, and
availability of information assets, systems and infrastructure.
It also recognises the potential and scope for future expansion and
innovation.
The ISO 27001 certification was awarded by Intertek, one of the
global leaders in certification, inspection and testing services.
The certification is accredited by 'UKAS' (United Kingdom
Accreditation Service), an international accreditation organisation, the
sole national accreditation body recognised by the British government to
assess the competence of organisations that provide certification,
testing, inspection and calibration services. |
