Hemas Hospital receives Australian accreditation
Hemas Hospital has received accreditation from the Australian Council
on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI), a leading body for
hospital accreditation in Australia.
The Hemas Hospital chain has hospitals in Wattala, Galle and
Thalawatugoda. Its flagship Wattala hospital is a 100-bed
multi-specialty healthcare facility.
In 2011, Hemas Hospitals was awarded the OHSAS 18000 standard for
occupational health and safety, making it the first hospital in Sri
Lanka to achieve this standard.
With this achievement, Hemas Hospital strengthened the safety of
patient care delivery process and further ensures safe, hazard-free
environment for its workforce.
The hospital's laboratory service was awarded the ISO 15189
certification which is considered the gold standard certificate for
clinical laboratories around the world.
The laboratory has the widest scope in ISO accreditation among the
clinical laboratories in the country.
Hemas Hospital also owns a fast-growing laboratory chain with
satellite laboratories in Ragama, Gampaha, Ja-ela, Negombo, Chilaw, Sri
Jayewardenapuira, Norris Canal Road, Kalubowila, Kurunegala and
Karapitiya.
