Estimated revenue not collected

Local bodies in Kurunegala and Puttalam Districts of the NWP have not earned the estimated revenue last year which is over Rs 480.6 million.

There is one Municipal Council, three Urban Councils and 28 Pradeshiya Sabhas in the NWP.

The maximum amount of dues is reported from the Kurunegala MC and it is Rs 80.34 million.

The NWP Chief Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara told the Sunday Observer that a program would be launched shortly to recover dues from ratepayers.

A mobile service program would be held at electoral level to collect these dues, the chief minister said.
