Cover: Sisterly affection

Pruthuvi Thushira and Rithivi Tashira of Laxapathiya, Moratuwa are enjoying the company of each other. Their names are akin to nature. Pruthuvi means earth while Thushira means mist. Rithivi is connected to the four seasons. Our photographer, Sudam Gunasinghe captured this photograph of these sisters at home.

Our photographer Mahinda Vithaanachi captured this photograph of a student looking beyond the wire fence, that seems to hold him back. This photograph speaks volumes of children wanting to break the shackles that limit their movement and want to move on. 'How can I do this' is perhaps on in this boy's mind'.
