Health facilities to be improved in NWP - D.B. Herath

The North Western Province Health Authority is currently carrying out a program to enhance health facilities in rural hospitals and the central dispensaries of Wayamba.

NWP Health Minister D.B. Herath said the health service is of a high standard compared to developed countries.

We have allocated more funds for the health sector in 2014 compared to the previous year.

The Minister said, "We have taken steps to decentralise the facilities of rural hospitals and improved facilities for treatment of "Thalassaemia", Kurunegala hospitals. Our intention is to create a sound health policy in the country.

People will be educated on Thalassaemia and rat fever disease. We have been given a mandate by the people and will do our duty as we had pledged, the Minister said.
