Kuliyapitiya UC and Wariyapola PS adjudged the best

The NWP Local Government Department under the guidance of the Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils organised a competition among local bodies in the Kurunegala and Puttalam Districts to select the best local bodies of excellent performances.

According to the competition conducted in 2013, the following local bodies have been ajudged to have performed well during the year 2013. The best Urban Council in the NWP was Kuliyapitiya UC and the best Pradeshiya Sabha was Wariyapola PS in Kurunegala.

The local bodies that have achieved the first places would qualify to appear for the National level competition of Performances among local bodies, Indika Bandaranayake, the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils and the Kurunegala District parliamentarian said
