Carlton Schools Sevens:

Science and Kingswood undefeated at Koggala

Science College and Kingswood College remained unbeaten and led the points tables of Groups 'A' and 'B' respectively at the end of the first leg of the Carlton Schools Sevens rugby tournament held in Koggala.

Group 'A' comprised Royal College, Science College, Isipathana College and C W W Kannangara MV while Group 'B' comprised Kingswood College, Trinity College, St Joseph's College and Wesley College.

Science College created a major upset in the Schools Rugby Sevens tournament by defeating favourites Isipathana College 21-17 while Royal overcame C W W Kannangara MV 15-5. Kingswood College's defence was too strong for Wesley College who lost 29-nil.

St Joseph's defeated Trinity 28-12. Isipathana made amends to their morning's defeat overcoming Royal 19-12 while Science College proved their class defeating C W W Kannangara MV 21-10. Kingswood were too strong for the Josephians winning 33-nil. Trinity defeated Wesley 31-12 in the last schools game of the day.
