NHREP to ensure national development

A blueprint has been formulated to launch a National Human Resources Employment Policy (NHREP) to develop the country's national workforce and thereby ensure national development.

The NHREP and its implementation policy have been formulated and it would be sent to the relevant Ministries to develop human resources, education, vocational training, health, sports, women's and children's affairs and social development, Senior Minister for Human Resources D.E.W. Gunasekara told the Sunday Observer yesterday.

The NHREP has identified 19 major sectors and a framework for implementation with a monitoring mechanism have been effected. The Presidential Secretariat has informed the relevant Ministries to appoint competent officers to provide information to the Senior Minister's Secretariat and extend their fullest support for its coordination and progress review framework, he said.
