Lanka-Maldives discuss blue ocean concept

Sri Lanka and the Maldives discussed practical strategies to derive the maximum benefit from the evolving concept of blue ocean with proper management of the exploitation of marine resources when the Joint Commission of Sri Lanka and the Maldives met on Wednesday in Colombo.

South-South co-operation, specially with regard to value addition, by canning, filleting and other forms of processing of fisheries products, to ensure optimal benefit from exports, were emphasised during discussions between Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris and his Maldivian counterpart Dunya Maumoon on Wednesday.
