SLF partners NIOE for training programs
The Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF) signed an MoU with the National
Institute of Exports (NIOE) at the SLF premises recently to develop and
implement training programs in export and import management.
The SLF which has been transformed into a national centre for
leadership, education and training comes under the purview of the
Presidential Secretariat and is managed by a Board of Management.
The National Institute of Exports (NIOE) which was set up by the
National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) for the education and
training of members acts as a subsidiary of NCE.
The NCE, incorporated in 1994, serves Sri Lankan exporters and is the
'voice of the exporter'.
The courses will be conducted at certificate, advanced certificate,
diploma, higher diploma level. This collaboration develops links between
the industry and the academia and promote research and industry networks
among local and foreign academics and professionals.
President NCE and Chairman of NIOE, Mangala P.B. Yapa, Immediate Past
President NCE and Director of NIOE, Dr. Jagath Peiris, Vice President
NCE and Director of NIOE, Sarada de Silva, Vice President NCE, Ramal
Jasinghe, NIOE Director Ms. Dawn Austin, Chief Executive Officer, NIOE,
P.D. Fernando, Executive Director, NCE, Rasa Weerasingham, Director
Member Services, NCE, L S G Tillekeratne, Director Trade Promotion, NCE,
NIOE official Shiham Marikar, Chairman SLF, Prof. Ranjith Bandara,
Director Finance and Admin, Mrs. Premalie Wijeweera, Consultant Academic
Affairs, Samantha Rathnayake, Unit coordinator of SLF Business and
Enterprise Unit, Dilhan Gunathilake were also present at the signing of
