Chinese market, important for Lanka
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) organised a meeting recently
between the Designate - Head of Mission to Sichuan Province of China,
Bala Kaandeepan and local businessmen who do business with China or hope
to do so soon.
Kaandeepan said that the Chinese market is important for Sri Lanka.
The country should look positively at the proposed FTA to be signed
between the two countries, he said.
Kaandeepan and the representatives of several local firms and
exchanged information pertaining to doing business with China.
Representatives from Aitken Spence Travels, AG Masters, Amaran Group,
Best Centre, Civaro Lanka, David Peiris Motor Company, MAC Holdings,
McLaren's Holdings, Multichemi Exports, Nature's Beauty Creations,
Prima, SML Frontier Automotive, Sunshine Tea and Taj Samudra Hotel were
also present.
Senior Assistant Secretary General of the Chamber, Ms. Lilakshi de
Mel called upon the business community to use the services offered by
the oversees trade missions of Sri Lanka.
Diplomats designated to various countries visit the Ceylon Chamber of
Commerce as a customary practice, to meet and discuss with the local
business community doing business with that country and also to meet the
representatives of the Business Councils. |
