Forum discussion: SME sector and the way forward
The head of the World Bank's Trade and Competitiveness Global
Practice in Asia, Dr. P. S. Srinivas will be a part of the keynote panel
of the upcoming 'National Forum on SME empowerment 2014'.
Dr. Srinivas will speak on 'The role of SMEs in Economic Development:
International Experience and Perspective', at the forum, which is
organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. An expert on helping firms,
sectors and countries to improve productivity and competitiveness,
Srinivas will take the stage on the very first session of the forum to
be held on October 13 and 14.
His World Bank role involves, leading the World Bank team in
providing advice, lending, knowledge services and products to client
countries in Asia and also focuses on the themes of increasing economic
growth and creating better jobs.
Srinivas holds a MA and a PhD in Economics from the Cornell
University, New York and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management,
among several other qualifications, under his belt. Before working for
the World Bank, he has worked for the Asian Development Bank and the
ICICI Bank of India.
The National Forum on Small and Medium Enterprises Empowerment 2014
