Unique live entertainment

A truly special evening it turned out to be when the all-girl group High on Heels spread the heat vibes at a unique concept of live entertainment at the Kingsbury recently.

This was a 'first time' for the capacity packed audience present and the all-girl band didn't for a minute hesitate to pull out all the stops to make their entertainment a spectacular experience for us all.

Comprising a DJ, a drummer, a saxophonist, an electric violinist, a percussionist and a vocalist, High on Heels from the first note of their entrance anthem had the audience transfixed, with most of them dancing to the pulsating throb of their music.

We hope our DJs would take a leaf from their books and the entertainment displayed by High on Heels. This was disco music with a different flavour.

This was disco music sculptured for sheer entertainment.

The members of High on Heels are all professionally qualified in their music, and is headed by UK's most famous DJ Miss Kelly Marie. The band set up in 2002. Since then the band has travelled all over the world and according to Kelly Marie "have performed for luxury and nightlife brands." In Sri Lanka their splash was for AXE.

Kelly Marie said that the girls in the band are talented musicians and vocalists who have played for stars such as Adele, Madonna and Jessie J.

Their music range from "Classic covers and high energy performances, to lounge sets and original releases."

Beyonce and Chaka Khan figure high in their music appreciation and as they tell us their musical influences are drawn from classical, jazz, soul, afro, funk and house music.

They sang tracks from their albums First Time, Are You Ready, Gypsy Woman and Supa Bad Singles 'Simply the Best', 'Ordinary Day' and Kelly Marie's 'Let Me Love You' were exciting in expression.

It was a justifiable blast from an all girl band who had the audience on their feet till the early hours of dawn.
