Brothers brutally hacked to death

Two brothers were brutally hacked to death with axes by a gang in Gandara on Friday night over a personal feud, the police said.

The victims identified as Mahadurage Prasad Manoj Kumara (36) and Mahadurage Rasaal Wasantha Kumara (38) were living in Nawadunna.

A gang of several men armed with axes had confronted the brothers near the Gammaduwa temple and had hacked the duo causing serious injuries.

They were rushed to the Matara Hospital but were pronounced dead on admission. The Gandara police had deployed a special team to arrest the suspects who are absconding.
